Ben, I enjoyed watching this video as you adapted to your physical limitations while recreating masterful replacement inlays for this unique guitar. You've faced some significant personal challenges but you've come out the other side stronger, more thoughtful, and willing to recognize when you needed help to get through the dark. I'm glad to see you back and being more creative than ever. I look forward to your next great project and want you to know that while I'm just one of many fans you've shown me, there is no shame in seeking help when you're struggling. Thank you so much for that... 🤗

I have one of these with a Bixby tremolo. Just inherited from dad who recently passed away. It needs a fret job and possibly a nut and maybe saddles? It's not very playable right now, but it used to jam! I learned to play on that guitar as a 13 year old kid, and I just have to restore her former glory to her!

Been playing 62+ years. I have two Stratocasters with lacquer on the board. Got so tired of trying to play on that slick surface that I took a singled-edged razor to them. They play MUCH better. Put some Crimson Guitars oil on the back of the neck if it isn't finished to reduce moisture, and play away. Just my opinion, of course.

I've owned a Chibson LP for four years now & I really do love it right down to the Gibson USA hard case & the fake serial number. I did initially clean up the fret ends because that was pretty badly done, as well as replacing the Grovers, but the rest is surprisingly well made. I've had it into a guitar shop & they of course sneered at my Chinese copy, but had to admit it was nice. The thing is if it's well made who cares if it's a real Gibson or not? It's all about how it plays and sounds, and mine plays really well and sounds beautiful, and has held up very well over the years.

I'm happy the "Burn it!" clip for the intro is back! The guitar looks really cool too, the shape has grown on me Edit: Is it just me or does it look almost like there's a skull in the wood grain at 16:16? If you tilt your head to the left and follow the shape of where the pink stain has been applied, you see almost a skull like pair of eye sockets and nasal cavity in the grain!

You are doing some fine and detailed work there, no doubt, but I have to say it. This project is stupid! All of that for a tiny amount of RECLAIMED ivory? Why? Just say it's bone! Make a new spec sheet if you have to. Taking that risk, with someone else's master art work, just to please some overly sensitive social justice warrior. It's infuriating! They act like you hunted down an elephant just for your dragon claws. The piano keys were probably reclaimed meterial as well. Elephants do die on their own too you know! Tusks can be found on the ground too, they're not ONLY taken from hunted animals.

I'm only talking about myself here, but. My favourite content on this channel, by far, is the "actual woodworking" part of guitar building. Everything from choosing the pieces of wood, cutting, carving, gluing together until the finish goes on. That's definitely what I come back for. Obviously this channel shows a lot more things as well, from other sources of inspiration, luthier teardowns and whatnot, but videos like this one and the previous one are the most up my alley.

"Let me know if you'd like to see that" (circle stamped pseudo sunburst) Ummm, hell yes. Duh! It sparked an avenue of thought. There's countless art styles that could be applied to custom shop level guitars. Pointillism, Geometric etc. Even reinterpreting traditional guitar finishes (sunburst, silver bust, cherry burst etc) in a different art style, could be an interesting fusion for a limited run series (video and custom shop collection). 🤔 It seems like "custom shop" generally means crazy flame/quilt/burl tops (and exemplary workmanship obvs). But there's a potential avenue for "simpler" tops with unique art. Like the some of the annual Fender masterbuilt Prestige collection.

Getting all my GGBO2021 entry completely unfinished because it was only with the stain that I noticed the horrible job I did with the sanding. It was good enough for an amateur video on youtube (especially for those watching on their phones) but I demand more of myself and I wasn't happy with that.

Thanks for showing the stains. I used the stunning stains (alcohol based) and found that, the 2nd colour simply removed the previous colour, so I ended up pre mixing them. I wondered if using a layer of water base then alcohol base would work and you demonstrated that it does. Thanks Ben.
